After shipping, the best intervention is calm. The plant needs a transition, not an intense welcome.
Day one: open, observe, do not over-correct
Open the parcel carefully and remove protection without pulling the plant. Look at roots, base, skin and growing point. If everything is firm, there is little to fix.
Place the plant in bright filtered light with gentle airflow and no direct sun. The journey was already enough stimulus. The first luxury you can offer is stability.
Short quarantine and body reading
Keep the plant apart from the collection for a few days. Not out of fear, but out of method. Distance lets you detect bruising, retained moisture, pests or stress before it joins established plants.
If it arrived bare-root, avoid immediate watering. Let any tiny wounds dry and let the plant match the temperature and humidity of its new space.

The first watering should be almost boring
When the plant looks stable and the substrate is ready, water in a controlled way. Do not look for spectacle. Ideally almost nothing dramatic happens: the body stays firm, roots start working and the plant enters rhythm.
For purchases within the EU, traceability and documentation matter as much as packaging. A careful reception is part of a serious collection.
Acclimation is not a cure. It is a quiet room between travel and the collection.
